Canon EOS Rebel X 35mm SLR Film Camera with Canon EF Autofocus Lens (Renewed)

The Canon EOS Rebel XS, also known as the Kiss, is a 35mm SLR film camera with the EF mount Canon lens system. It features an AF system with TTL phase detection. The AF modes include One-Shot AF and AI Servo AF, with automatic switchover between the two. The AF sensor utilizes a Multi-BASIS system, which allows for automatic selection of three focusing points. Additionally, the center focusing point can be manually selected using the AE lock button. The AF operating range at ISO 100 is EV 1.5 to 18.

The camera is equipped with a vertical-travel, focal-plane electronic shutter that operates from 30 seconds to 1/2000 second, as well as a Bulb mode. The X-sync speed is 1/90 second, and it has a built-in electronic self-timer with a beeper.

The viewfinder is a fixed eye-level roof mirror with a 0.7x magnification and 90% coverage. It displays various information, including the center AF mark, wide AF frame, partial metering circle, numeric values, textual display, in-focus indicator, exposure display, shutter speed, aperture setting, red-eye reduction lamp, flash ready, panorama frame (set with an external lever), and other indications.

The camera's metering and exposure control features a Composite SPC for TTL full-aperture metering, including 6-zone evaluative, 9.5% partial at the center, and center-weighted averaging. It supports shutter-priority AE, aperture-priority AE, Intelligent program AE, depth-of-field AE, and four program AE modes, as well as metered manual. The exposure compensation range is ±2 EV in 1/2-stop increments, and the metering range at ISO 100 and f/1.4 is EV 2 to 20. The film speed range is ISO 6 to 6400, and the camera can capture a maximum of 9 multiple exposures.

The external LCD displays various information, such as shutter speed, aperture setting, film speed, multiple exposure count, red-eye reduction, self-timer display, film status, exposure display, and battery check.

The built-in flash is located on the pentaprism hump and features an auto pop-up head. It provides TTL autoflash control, off-the-film metering with a 4-zone flash metering sensor covering three flash metering points, and a red-eye reduction lamp that also serves as an AF-assist beam emitter. The flash has a guide number of 12 (at ISO 100 in meters). The camera is powered by two 3V CR123A lithium batteries.
